Accessories Evaluation

Accessories Evaluation

Home Design magazine, Interior from page 1

The colour scheme in this interior are predominantly crisp whites combined with complementary natural timber items and contrasting low tonal value accessories. The monochromatic zebra rug creates a statement in otherwise harmonious interior.

The large windows are bringing a lot of natural light into the interior while connecting the outside with the inside. The stunning view of the ocean and palm trees complements perfectly the serene interior. The view is calming, tranquil and balanced. The glass table reflects the view slightly. The whole interior feels light, clean and crisp.

The decorative accessories used are mainly natural, raw materials such as the wood on the fire place or pebbles and bigger stones around it. They complete the room without being too distractive.

Fabric Testing

Martindale and Stoll Fabric Tests

Martindale Fabric Test- Most fabrics undergo the Martindale test to check their durability and suitability for various uses. The test is also known as the rub test. Generally the higher the rub number is, the more suitable the fabric is for heavy usage. During the test the fabric samples are mounted flat and rubbed against an abrasive medium (such as wool) in figure eight like motion. Number of cycles (rubs) determines the abrasion rating. Stoll Fabric Test- Another abrasion method used in fabric testing. In this method the fabric sample is mounted over an elastomeric pad and rubbed vertically against an abradant.  The endpoint is evaluated and determined.
